uptoyou

Up To You, 2015, five traditional Indian paintings

For this project that I realized during my stay in New Delhi,
I asked five traditional Indian painters to do a painting of an object,
which I found in my Indian neighbourhood. My brief for them was to
use their traditional style but to do their own interpretation of this object.

Untitled, 2015, paper folding, 36 x 55 cm/
Subjective Average, 2017, wall paint

This folded paper sheet is my interpretation of the found object.
I wrapped it around the object and unfolded it afterwards.

The grey colour in the background is the average colour of all
personal photo snapshots that I took during my stay in India.
